Senior Vice President of Payments and Network at wallet service provider Fireblocks, Ran Goldi, informed the media outlet The Block that, according to his sources, the payment service X Money on the social platform X is expected to integrate cryptocurrency payment functionality by the end of 2025.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced in a statement released this January that Visa is the first partner of X Money, marking a milestone in X’s vision of becoming an “Everything App.” According to her at the time, X Money will enable users to securely and instantly top up their X Wallet via Visa Direct and allow connections to financial cards for peer-to-peer payments and bank transfers.
However, Yaccarino did not mention any integration related to cryptocurrency in her announcement but stated that this is “the first of many significant announcements regarding X Money.” Given the support of X owner Elon Musk for Dogecoin and the correlation between the name of the government efficiency department he leads (DOGE) and the Dogecoin token code, many members of the cryptocurrency community believe that X Money may eventually support Dogecoin payments.
