During the Taipei Blockchain Week, WEEX’s booth attracted over 1,000 cryptocurrency enthusiasts for consultations and exchanges. On December 13 (TBW Day 2), Andrew Weiner, Vice President of WEEX Global, participated in a roundtable discussion themed “How to Use Influencers and Content to Bring More People into Web3.”
Andrew pointed out that the biggest mistake in influencer/KOL marketing is paying for endorsements that praise products which are, in fact, subpar. Today’s consumers value transparency—they want to see real data and experiences and learn how to use products to solve problems, rather than being swayed by sales pitches. Therefore, he believes influencer marketing should focus more on authenticity and the value of content. The best strategy is to have influencers genuinely use the product and showcase both its strengths and weaknesses, rather than over-glamorizing it. This approach builds long-term trust, rather than relying on short-term exposure.
Similarly, in community building, Andrew believes that a real ecosystem must be established, where users can actively participate and see value. While short-term hype may draw attention, long-term success depends on the support of genuine users.
