Cryptocurrency venture firm Paradigm has launched its first production-ready Ethereum execution client, called Reth 1.0, developed Rust. The client will focus on providing stable Ethereumnet nodes and aims to achieve high throughput performance in remote procedure calls (RPC), synchronization, storage capacity.
Georgios Konstantopoulos, the CTO of Paradigm, stated that an execution client is a software application that connects to the Ethereum network and executes network rules. Being production-ready means that Reth 1.0 is now available for developers or stakers to use in their production environments for processing real-time transactions and operations.
The that currently Reth 1.0 can synchronize with the Ethereum mainnet within approximately 50 hours from genesis and manages 2.25TB of archival node storage with high transaction throughput and low latency, making it the fastest synchronization speed among all client projects.
Performance-focused execution client
Execution clients play a crucial role in handling transactions, executing smart contracts, and maintaining the state of the Ethereum network. Reth will complement existing Ethereum execution clients such as Geth, Nether, Besu, and Erigon.
The introduction of a new execution client will contribute diversifying the Ethereum client ecosystem. For network users, relying on diverse client projects that offer feature-rich node software and connectivity to the network is essential.
Future version Reth 1.1 will focus on supporting OP Stack optimizations. Paradigm has invited industry participants to use Reth in production and offers priority support and customizations for early partners. Recently, Paradigm announced raising $850 million for its third fund dedicated to early-stage crypto projects.
