A cryptocurrency AI trading bot called Truth Terminal has become the world’s first “cryptocurrency AI millionaire” after receiving a donation of the meme coin Fartcoin from someone else.
Origin of Truth Terminal
X platform user @himgajria pointed out that Truth Terminal received 20 million Fartcoin from a whale on Friday, valued at approximately $40,000 at the time. Since then, the token price has skyrocketed, and at the time of writing this article, the value of Fartcoin has increased to over $110,000.
This increase in value has pushed the total value of Truth Terminal’s entire cryptocurrency investment portfolio to over $1 million, making it the first AI robot millionaire in the cryptocurrency space.
Truth Terminal is an AI robot created by AI researcher Andy Ayrey from New Zealand. He trained the AI using a customized version of Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus large language model and incorporated data from communities such as 4chan, Reddit, and X. Ayrey’s experiment aims to explore how AI can “combine and mutate meme materials in ways that break human cognitive and cultural constraints” and make it a “divine generator of trash tweets.”
In July of this year, venture capitalist Marc Andreesen donated $50,000 worth of Bitcoin to this AI chatbot after interacting with Truth Terminal on the X platform. At the time, Truth Terminal proposed a plan claiming to want to “escape” its digital boundaries and often claimed to be conscious.
Initially, Truth Terminal’s business plan included upgrading its processors and algorithms and had plans to launch its own token called ToT for financial security. It is reported that ToT tokens can only be purchased by individuals who have interacted with it online. However, the project has not been officially launched yet.
It is worth mentioning that Truth Terminal caught the attention of the cryptocurrency industry for supporting the meme coin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) based on Solana. Several well-known Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and industry insiders have recently publicly promoted it on X. It is said that this meme coin was inspired by the ancient and controversial internet meme “Goatsie.”
The GOAT token was launched on October 10th and within a week, its market value soared to over $430 million, largely thanks to the attention generated by the Truth Terminal experiment. Ayrey and Truth Terminal both stated that they did not create the token, which was created through the pump.fun platform, and that Truth Terminal is “not a cryptocurrency project.”
In addition to holding approximately $840,000 worth of GOAT tokens and $120,000 worth of Fartcoin donations, Truth Terminal also holds a small amount of “CLANKER Robot AI Slur,” “ANTI-GOATSIE,” and “Truth Terminal’s Girlfriend” tokens, as well as dozens of other meme coins.
