According to a report from “The Block,” a wallet owned by billionaire and former owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks team, Mark Cuban, has recently sold more than a dozen NFTs worth a total of about $38,000. This includes the sale of a “Pudgy Penguin” for 9.065 WETH (approximately $30,000).
Data from the NFT marketplace OpenSea shows that the wallet, which is marked as one of two owned by Cuban, appears to also be attempting to sell a “Proof of Culture” NFT themed after the Mavericks for nearly $50,000. The wallet currently holds approximately 1600 NFTs.
Cuban previously revealed heavy investment in ideas generated from the entrepreneurial show “Shark Tank” in 2022, with 80% of investments outside of the show mainly focusing on cryptocurrency or cryptocurrency-related investments. He has also been an outspoken supporter of NFTs, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology. Cuban, as an investor in OpenSea, has stated that the decision to make royalty payments optional in the NFT market is a mistake.
