On Monday, the American online brokerage Robinhood announced the launch of the “Prediction Markets Hub” within its app, allowing customers the opportunity to trade on the outcomes of several significant global events. Initially, the hub will enable customers to trade contracts on the upper limit of the federal funds target rate for May and the results of the upcoming men’s and women’s college basketball championships.
Robinhood stated that establishing an independent Prediction Markets Hub would more effectively serve customers, allowing them to engage with events closely related to their interests.
Robinhood’s Prediction Markets Hub and corresponding contracts will initially be made available to U.S. users through the prediction market platform Kalshi (KalshiEX LLC), which is regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Robinhood announced that these contracts will begin rolling out today and will be available to eligible users in the coming days.
