According to local media reports, the Dubai Land Department (DLD), as the government agency responsible for the real estate sector, has announced the launch of a real estate tokenization pilot program.
The department claims that this makes it the first registration authority in the Middle East to “process real estate certificates using blockchain technology.” This program has been jointly developed by the Dubai Land Department, the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), and the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), aiming to support Dubai’s 2033 real estate strategy and further solidify its position as a global technology hub.
