Nvidia’s Inception Program Aims to Support Startups
Nvidia’s Inception program is designed to assist startups that have been established for no more than 10 years and are at various stages of financing, providing a range of support including technical assistance, product development resources, and brand exposure.
Eligibility Criteria for the Program
However, the “Assistance Center” on Nvidia’s official website clearly states that there are five types of businesses that are not eligible to participate in its accelerator program, which include: consulting and outsourcing development companies, cloud service providers, distributors and agents, publicly traded companies, and cryptocurrency-related companies.
Shift in Policy Stance
This policy change contrasts sharply with past practices. As early as 2018, Nvidia welcomed the blockchain and artificial intelligence advertising startup Ubex into the Inception program, demonstrating an open attitude towards cryptocurrency-related technologies at that time. The current explicit exclusion of cryptocurrency companies suggests that Nvidia’s cautious stance towards participation in this field may have intensified. A Nvidia spokesperson declined to comment on the specific reasons for this exclusion policy.
