In response to the damage caused by the recent catastrophic heavy rains in southern Taiwan, Binance, the world’s largest virtual asset exchange by trading volume and registered users, announced today that it will airdrop BNB tokens worth up to $1.2 million (approximately NT$35 million) to its users in the most severely affected areas.
User identity verification will be based on the address proof (POA) provided by users on Binance, specifically in the severely impacted southern regions, including: Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City and County, Tainan City, and Kaohsiung City.
Existing users who completed POA verification before August 7, 2025, will directly receive BNB token vouchers worth $80 in their Binance accounts. Additionally, the first 15,000 existing users from the disaster-affected areas who complete POA verification between August 7 and August 20, 2025 (inclusive) will receive BNB token vouchers worth $30.
This charitable donation is expected to be airdropped to eligible user accounts starting from August 14.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao stated:
“In this difficult time, Binance stands firmly with our users and community. In the past, Binance Charity has also provided assistance after the Hualien earthquake, and has extended help during natural disasters in Thailand, Myanmar, Argentina, Turkey, and Europe.”
