After a Year and a Half Wait, Solana’s Second-Generation Phone Seeker Begins Shipping, Expected to Arrive in the Coming Weeks

According to an announcement released by Solana’s mobile device team, Solana mobile, the second-generation phone, Seeker, has officially begun shipping. Tens of thousands of phones will be sent to over 50 countries worldwide, and consumers are expected to receive their ordered phones in the coming weeks.

According to previous reports from Zombit, Solana’s second-generation phone opened for pre-orders in January 2024, with a final pre-order volume reaching approximately 150,000 units across 57 countries. The Solana Seeker features its Seed Vault Wallet, described as a cryptocurrency wallet designed specifically for mobile, natively integrated with a self-custody seed vault built into the Solana phone, developed in collaboration with Solflare.

Hollyer stated, “Now you only need to click twice to send a transaction, and you can choose between main mode and burner mode to ensure peace of mind and save time, so you no longer have to worry about account management issues.”

In addition to improved hardware specifications, the Seeker phone also includes a new version of the Solana dApp Store, which enhances the discoverability of applications related to payments, DeFi (decentralized finance), DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure), NFTs, AI, and gaming.

Furthermore, each new phone comes with a unique “Genesis Token,” an NFT that is soulbound (non-transferable) and unlocks exclusive third-party rewards, access privileges, discounts, and content within the entire Solana ecosystem.
