Bitcoin Payments Surge Merchants Accepting Bitcoin Tripled in Past Year Japanese Ecommerce Platform Mercari Joins the Trend

According to a report by Nikkei News, Japan’s largest online flea market Mercari has announced that it will start accepting Bitcoin (BTC) payments from June this year. The prices of flea market items are displayed in Japanese Yen, but buyers can choose Bitcoin as a payment method when making a purchase. It is said that the company will process Bitcoin payments through its cryptocurrency subsidiary Melcoin based in Tokyo.
