According to a press release published on PR Times, Sony Group’s cryptocurrency exchange company, Amber Japan, has announced a name change to S.BLOX Co. and plans to revamp its trading platform, WhaleFin.
Originally, this cryptocurrency exchange entity was DeCurret, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, which was acquired by Amber Group’s Japanese subsidiary in 2022. Later, Sony’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Quetta Web Co., acquired the platform in August 2023.
According to the press release from S.BLOX, the company plans to collaborate with other businesses within Sony Group to create more value for its cryptocurrency trading services. The revamp of the WhaleFin platform includes a redesign of the user interface and the release of a new mobile app, making it more user-friendly. WhaleFin also expects to expand its supported currencies and features after the revamp. The exact launch date of the new platform has not been announced.
