The Ethereum documentary “Vitalik: An Ethereum Story,” which has been in production for three years, will finally be released this year. The documentary was initially titled “Ethereum: Infinite Garden,” a concept originally proposed by the Ethereum Foundation. However, due to the film being an independent production and not affiliated with the Ethereum Foundation, the team ultimately decided to abandon this name to avoid confusion within the community.
The Ethereum-themed documentary is independently produced by the film company Optimist, produced by Carrie Weprin, and co-directed by Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple. Linda Xie, the founder of Scalar Capital and former product manager at Coinbase, also participated as a consultant. The funding for the production came from 1,035.96 ETH raised from the community through Mirror in 2021.
The team announced in today’s release that the documentary will be released in five stages:
Stage One: Trailer Release – July 23
The trailer will be available for unlimited minting on Zora, and each mint will contribute to funding the film’s distribution. The team will also hold a minting leaderboard event, with top contributors receiving benefits such as attending the premiere, free tickets, and end credits sponsorship.
