According to the latest announcement from the EIGEN Foundation, the token transfer restrictions for the Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer will be lifted on September 30, 2024. Additionally, there will be a 7-day withdrawal waiting period for unstaking, which means that those who are currently staking but wish to transfer their tokens immediately after the lifting of the transfer restrictions must initiate the unstaking process now.
According to a previous report by Zombit, EigenLayer distributed its first season airdrop rewards to platform stakers on May 10 of this year, with a claim period of 120 days. However, the foundation has set an “initial non-transferable period” for EIGEN tokens (where they can only be staked and not sold), aimed at allowing more time for further product development, decentralization, and community feedback.
