    Binance Data Leak?
    Beware of Potential Phishing Risks
According to Decrypt’s report, a user named “Fire Bear” claimed on a forum related to data leaks that they had obtained a personal information database of Binance users and claimed that this data was leaked in August.

    Source:
    dailydarkweb
The article mentioned that the leaked data includes users’ “last name, first name, email, phone number, date of birth, address, postal code.” The publisher also provided partially anonymized data samples and stated that this information can be “partially or fully sold.” The user invited interested parties to contact them, which raised concerns about potential misuse of this sensitive data.
However, Binance has denied these allegations. A Binance spokesperson told the media:
“This is false. Our security team has investigated and confirmed that this is not a Binance data leak event.”
However, despite Binance’s denial of the data leak rumors, cybersecurity experts still advise users to remain vigilant. Oz Tamir, a researcher from Blockaid, warned in an interview with the media that although this incident may be fake, such events often provide opportunities for phishing attacks and account theft fraud. He recommends users to enable two-factor authentication and remain cautious of any unexpected communications to avoid potential threats.
“Even if this leak is fake, it is still important to stay vigilant as scammers may use this personal information to impersonate Binance or other trusted entities in an attempt to gain control over users’ accounts.”
Luciano Ciattaglia, the Director of Services at Hacken, expressed doubt about this alleged leak. He pointed out that Binance is known for its strong security protocols and that personal identifying information (PII) is heavily protected and one of the safest assets on the platform. He believes that these allegations are likely a scam, which is not uncommon in similar incidents.
