The organization behind the Ethereum Layer 2 network Starknet, Starknet Foundation, responded on Friday (1st) on the X platform to speculation sparked by two circulating screenshots about its upcoming token airdrop, confirming that the airdrop snapshot has been completed.
The circulating screenshots in the community are from a briefly appearing page on the Starknet website, listing unconfirmed information including Starknet’s airdrop criteria, explaining which types of crypto activities would make a wallet address eligible for the airdrop, sparking widespread discussion in the community about the token airdrop.
In response, Starknet Foundation stated:
The foundation emphasized that the screenshots describe a plan draft that is still under development, and Starknet will announce the final official standards and details for airdrop distribution once ready. Furthermore, Starknet Foundation also confirmed that the eligibility deadline for the airdrop has been determined, and explicitly stated that any further actions by users will not affect their eligibility for the airdrop.
In an announcement in 2022, Starknet Foundation detailed that a total of 10 billion STRK tokens will be issued, with 50% reserved by the organization, and the rest allocated to core developers, ecosystem contributors, and the community.
