US Space Force Officer Urges Pentagon to Study National Strategic Implications of Bitcoin and other PoW Networks

In a letter to the Defense Innovation Board (DIB) of the United States on Saturday, December 2nd, Major Jason Lowery of the U.S. Space Force explained that while Bitcoin is mostly seen as a “currency system” to secure funds, few people know that Bitcoin can be used to secure “all forms of data, messages, or command signals”. “This misconception underestimates the wide strategic importance of this technology for network security and even national security.”
