Less than a week after Sam Altman was fired by the board, OpenAI announced on Wednesday (22nd) that Altman will return to OpenAI as CEO, former Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor and former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers will join the board, and Adam D’Angelo, co-founder and CEO of the online Q&A site Quora, will continue as a director.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also praised the changes made by OpenAI to the board on the X platform, stating that Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman both had discussions with him and “unanimously agreed that they would play a critical role with the OpenAI leadership team to ensure that OpenAI continues to thrive and fulfill its mission.”
According to Zombit’s previous report, it was rumored that if the rest of the board members who fired Altman resigned, he and Brockman would still be willing to return to OpenAI.
