Cryptocurrency investor and developer Ogle shared his experience of attending the “Mar-a-Lago Mansion” Trump NFT dinner in Palm Beach, Florida, USA on Tuesday (28th) in “Blockworks,” as well as his thoughts on the code of conduct for investing and participating in such projects.
Motivation for buying Trump NFT
Ogle stated that he is not a fan of Trump, but he spent nearly $20,000 (approximately 630,000 TWD) to buy Trump NFT, not for the “art” of the NFT, but for the “profit opportunity during the bear market.” He wrote:
Ogle eventually saw returns on this investment. He purchased 200 Trump NFTs, sold only one rare NFT for more than the cost, and received other rewards, including Trump’s new book and tickets to a large dinner attended by Trump. Ogle also sold many NFTs to other collectors during the post-release boom.

Ogle mentioned that he does not agree with Trump’s statements and most of his decisions as a former US president. The motivation for attending the Trump NFT dinner was more about family emotions and trying to break out of his “Elite bubble.”
Ogle attended the dinner with his grandfather and a friend, both of whom are Trump supporters. The dinner became a bridge of generational communication, “where our family ties are more important than our political differences.” He wrote:
Internal conflict of faith
Although Ogle’s participation in the dinner was seen by some as a deliberate political statement, leading to a decrease in followers on his X platform account and making him uncomfortable, he believes that Trump’s involvement in the NFT field is positive for the industry.
Ogle mentioned that during and after the dinner, his grandfather developed a new curiosity about cryptocurrency and NFTs, even deciding to invest some of his funds in this area when he is able to, which he considers “the best proof of this perspective.”
Ogle wrote:
Although satisfied with the return on buying Trump NFTs, Ogle reflected deeply on the ethical aspects of such decisions: “Can one participate in opportunities that conflict with personal beliefs without losing their moral compass, or is participation itself an acknowledgment of those beliefs?”
While not certain if he found the answers, Ogle stated that Trump indirectly made him face these complex questions.
